The Physical Therapists of Embody are here to help anyone become more active, stay active and healthy, and to prevent or lessen concerns frequently associated with aging.  We want you to live and function on your own terms, and to be as fit, strong, and balanced as you desire!

We are Pain Specialists, helping you regain the life you want despite chronic pain.

We are Specialists in helping you stay well and healthy, and in helping you prevent problems such as osteoporosis and joint pain and stiffness associated with arthritis and other concerns.

Embody Physiotherapy Telehealth Options: Attending PT in person in not always possible due to distance. Currently, you may be trying to minimize your exposure to CoronaVirus. We offer Virtual Appointments via internet. We are able to educate, train, progress and add exercise, and do almost everything that we would provide in an in-person session except manual work! Embody PhysioYoga individual sessions and classes are also available by live streaming. Please contact us to learn how this option could help you meet your goals!

Real Time Ultrasound (Rehabilitation Ultrasound)

A picture is worth a thousand words.

We are the only Physical Therapist groups in Western PA using Real Time Ultrasound (RTUS) to assess and retrain musculoskeletal problems and as Biofeedback. We use this information to help you retrain, strengthen, and re-coordinate your muscle groups. 


  • Pelvic Floor dysfunction, including incontinence.
  • Prehab (training BEFORE surgery) prior to prostatectomy.
  • Diastasis Rectus Abdominus and abdominal retraining.
  • Musculoskeletal retraining in the hip and pelvis.

Care for Moms-to-Be and New Moms

The world of pregnancy and childbirth can be hard to navigate, and your body is changing in ways you may not have experienced before. We are here to help guide you during pregnancy and after birth. Often, women think of PT only as a means to “fix”, but especially during pregnancy and after birth, we help you gain optimal mobility, strength, and function. 

Expert Physical Therapists can act as “facilitators”:

  • Helping you to gain and use the optimal muscle and tissue tension and strength to support the baby during pregnancy
  • To help you have space and mobility to allow the baby to navigate their way during delivery
  • To help you recover, restore, restrengthen, and re-fine after delivery.  

Prenatal Yoga Classes “MamaSte” Tuesdays 6:30-7:45 PM, Live Streamed. Move, breathe and strengthen with us as the baby grows and your body changes. We explore pelvic floor and “core” stength, coordination, and mobility as you prepare for delivery and life after baby! No yoga experience needed.

Coming in June: Floor, Core, and More Fitness Class for New Moms. More information coming soon for this 6 week class. Classes will be recorded and provided to participants to use during the week as you regain, retrain, restore.

The next Pregnancy and “Pelvic Health After Delivery”(AKA Prepare, and Peeing and Plevic Health After Baby) workshop will be towards the end of June and Live Streamed!! All Handouts and educational Material will be emailed to you. Join in, ask, and learn from the comfort of your own home! Learn tips for healthy and happy pregnancy, delivery, and early days after the baby arrives!

Some things you might have heard of, be experiencing, or be concerned about:

You do not need to live with these issues. We evaluate and treat these and more to help you have the healthiest and most confident pregnancy and post-partum time possible.  The 40 weeks it takes to prepare childbirth and the birth itself is quite a lot of work for your body. As your body recovers from this journey, we can help you regain strength and resume your regular exercise and activities with fewer concerns.

Pelvic Health and Pain

Are concerns or issues with pelvic pain or health affecting your daily life or keeping you from doing the things you want to do? So much of what we do on a daily basis is centered around movement, and a lot of that works with the pelvis. The goal at Embody is to provide you with the solutions and answers you need to revolve your concerns.

Pediatric Incontinence and Pelvic Floor Problems

These issues can be very stressful for you child or teen in social and school settings, as well as at home. It doesn’t have to be this way. We have answers and solutions. 

Visceral Mobilization (VM)

Visceral Mobilization (VM) is a gentle manual therapy technique that assesses the relationship between the body’s organs (e.g. bladder, bowel, uterus, etc) and others structures, like muscles, fascia, ligaments and joints. The goal is to regain mobility and decrease pain. This technique is gentle and not meant to create more pain!

The organs in our body help to support our skeletal structure and trunk, and they are meant to move. Like in our joints, there is to be movement between the organs and the trunk and skeletal structures.

The movement of an organ can be restricted by surgical scars, adhesions, infection, illness, habitual postures or traumatic injury. A restriction prevents the “gliding and sliding” action of around this area of tension, and over time this repeated movement may lead to chronic irritation and inflammation creating dysfunction, pain, and limited mobility and funtion.

The Embody Physical Therapists have received specialized training through the Barral Institute and other educators in General VM, gastro-intestinal VM, and uro-genital VM.

Visceral Manipulation has been effective in the treatment of:
