Pregnancy and Post-Partum

Having a baby brings about many changes… March 2020, we are working with clients via Telehealth. This tool does not prevent us from providing you with tools for change and improvement.

A March 2020 message from one of our moms: “I wanted to shoot you this quick video of my recent discovery in abdominal approximation. I know it’s not about the “gap” but I was shocked to see this! Great tension, and when I curl up I’m only feeling 1-1/2 fingers of a gap. Crazy!” The video shows the control she has gained (while her toddler crawls on her). She is right…it’s not about the “gap” but the control (and confidence) she is able to create! if you want more control, ask us!!

Floor, Core Connections, Plus Control Yoga and Exercise Class Saturdays, 9-10:30 AM. Each week will have specific pelvic floor work and information. Not meant to take the place of specific treatment, but to provide you with information, basic tips, and reinforcement. Weekly pass or Class Package.

Pregnancy and Post-Partum Physical Therapy

What is on your “Mom to Be” and “New Mom”  wish list?

To be as prepared as possible for labor and delivery? To be ready to work with your body and baby as a team during the birth journey? And to have tools that your partner or birth assitance can help you with during the labor process? PTs are not typically with you during L&D, but we CAN provide you tools, breath, and ways to optimize your birth, no matter if you plan a non-medicated, medicated, or planned C-section delivery.

Is your wish to  feel balanced, strong, and healthy? To enjoy time with your new baby and family without leakage, pain, or wondering if you are doing too much? To feel confident in your changing body?

Being told “You have had a baby…that’s normal” is not an adequate answer! Susan and Rebecca are Women’s Health Physiotherapy Specialists. We have answers and solutions to help you as you prepare for childbirth, and  recover, restore and “re-fine”after the baby is born.

We believe that all women benefit from PT during pregnancy and after birth to help them as they navigate the changes in their body, and to help prepare for birth, reconnect in the early days, and to strengthen and regain in the “4th Trimester” and beyond!

Our Next Pregnancy, Labor, and Post-baby Recovery Tips Workshop will be April 2020 and live streamed. Let us know if you have questions!

Some of the questions and concerns you might have during and after pregnancy, and that we have answers for:

  •  DRA (diastasis), Pelvic floor issues including scar and pain.
  •  Bladder leakage or frequency and urge changes, constipation  and bowel concerns.
